This years edition of The Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad includes, among others, Reconstruction by Mattias Härenstam. The Festival takes place between 11 - 16 June.
The Norwegian Short Film Festival is an important debut arena for many young filmmakers in Norway, and for the more established filmmakers perhaps the most important showcase for free and independent movies in Norway. The competition for international short film also attracts filmmakers from the rest of the world to Grimstad, and the festival wishes to arrange for bonds to be tied between the Norwegian and the international film community. A selection of Swedish video art, including Mattias Härenstams Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden), will be presented at IVAHM, International Video Art House Madrid. It is titled "What would Bergman think?" and curated by Anders Weberg of AIVA. The festival takes place June 6th - 9th at Centro des Artes La Neomudéjar in Madrid. More at the festival web page.
Reconstruction will be part of Umeå International Short Film Festival taking place May 24 - May 26 in Umeå, Sweden. It will be screened in a program titled "Dramatic" which will be shown at Folkets Hus Studio Sat May 25th at 11.00. More at the festival web page.
Wilfried Agricola de Cologne continues to take CologneOFF and Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) by Mattias Härenstam, on tour. First to Georgia with screenings at Center of Contemporary Art in Tiblisi 16-17-18 May, then Mudas Fest, Centro des Artes, Madeira, Portugal 24 - 26 May and on to the International Short Film Festival Detmold, Germany 31 May - 9 June. Mattias Härenstam will participate in the exhibition Trä 2013 / Wood 2013 at Virserums Konsthall with two large-scale woodsculptures: I know you are there and Not a single sound. Also the video The Diary of the Unknown Consumer will be on display. The show opens on May 5 and stays open until Dec 8 2013.
Already in 2004, Virserum Art Museum produced its first major exhibition on the potential and possibilities of wood. In 2013, Virserum Art Museum will produce its fourth exhibition on the topic. Spread over 1300m2 of indoor space as well as several thousand m2 of outside areas, WOOD 2013 will feature exhibitions on and about sustainability, design, arts and crafts, housing policy, architecture and building. Reconstruction will get its' international premiere at Jeonju International Film Festival, South Korea, April 25 - May 3 2013. Härenstam's short film will be screened in the section "Stranger than cinema".
JIFF, with its goal to lead ‘A Beautiful Change of the World through Cinema’ under the slogan, ‘Digital Alternative and Independence’ at its start in 2000, has always searched and introduced challenging and creative films which are distant from main stream films and made its position firm as one of the most recognized film festivals focusing on alternative and independent films in the world.

A special selection, including Mattias Härenstam's Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) from Festival Miden (based in Kalamata, Greece) will be screened at the Now&After Festival in Moscow. The festival takes place at Moscow Museum of Modern Art from April 22 - May 5.

Curator Miguel Petchkovsky has made a selection of work from the Videoguerrilha festival in Brazil, to be screened at the Festival de La imagen in Manizales, Colombia April 15 - 19 and at the 5th International Video Art Festival in Camaguey, Cuba April 22 - 28. The selection includes Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden).
