Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) has been shortlisted for Screengrab New Media Arts Award and will take part in the nominee exhibition opening August 10th in Townsville, Australia.The project is sponsored by James Cook University's School of Creative Arts and the eMergeMedia Space. ArteVideoOnTheRoad, Rome

Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) has been selected by Veronica D'Auria and Lino Strangis to be part of the outdoor event ArteVideoOnTheRoad that takes place at Piazzale del Verano in Rome at 21:00 August 7th. It is part of a selection from last years ArteVideoRoma festival.

 

Festival Miden, Kalamata

Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) will be screened as part of this years edition of Festival Miden in Kalamata, Greece. The Festival will take place from July 5th - July 7th.

Moscow International Film Festival

A screening of a selected program from this years edition of Oslo Screen Festival - including Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) - will be presented at the Moscow International Film Festival. The screening will be showcased in the frame of the Media-Forum - Festival Night (all-night screening program at ARTPLAY center) on June 27th.

The touring videofestival CologneOFF goes on with several screenings in eastern and southern Europe. Mattias Härenstams Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden) will be included in screenings at the Now & After Video Art Festival at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (Petrova Str. 25) from May 25th - June 10th; the International Film Festival in Yerewan, Armenia from May 17th - May 24th; the Urban Culture and Fire Festival in Minsk, Belarus May 19th - 20th and Athens International Video Art Festival, Greece May 18th - 20th.

Failure

On the occasion of the shows at Kunstnerforbundet, Oslo and Galleri 54, Gothenburg a catalogue titled "Failure" is published. It features a long interview by curator and art critic Power Ekroth and presentations of the more recent of Mattias Härenstam's work in images and on the accompanying DVD. Souvenirs from Earth

Selected video works by Mattias Härenstam will go on air Sunday May 20th at French-German Cable TV-channel Souvenirs from Earth. SFE is the first Cable TV station broadcasting a 24/7 program of Video art, Film, Visual art, Music, Installations and Performances, transforming bigger flat screens into an art terminals, giving access to the avant-garde of visual cultures.
