The group show Grafikk! opens on Wednesday Nov 26th at 19.00 at Buskerud Kunstsenter in Drammen, Norway. The show presents works by ten Norwegian artists working with printmaking: Johannes Borchgrevink Hansen, Arne Bendik Sjur, Inger Hagen, Annette Kierulf, Caroline Kierulf, Terje Resell, Elin Rødseth, Hanne- May Scheen, Ragnar Steensen and Mattias Härenstam. Mattias Härenstam participates with three prints: Meadow, Summerlandscape with radio (22. July 2011) and In the woods.

A new solo show by Mattias Härenstam, titled "Sketches for a re-animation", opens on Sat Nov 8th at Konstnärshuset, Stockholm. For the first time the series of wood sculptures, Sketches for a re-animation , will be shown in its' entirety. In addition to the three sculptures previously shown at the Vigeland Museum in Oslo last year, this show also includes two brand new works.

The upcoming production of a shortfilm, with the working title "Twenty-four Seven" has received funding by the Norwegian Film Institute with 1 000 000 NOK. The film, written and directed by Mattias Härenstam, will be produced by Helga Fjordholm. It is scheduled to premiere at the end of 2015 / early 2016. Reconstruction by Mattias Härenstam is one of the films selected for Artist Film International, a showcase of artists’ film from around the world at Whitechapel Gallery, London. The other films are Yuri Ancarani’s (Italy) film "Il capo" (2010), a film by Masooda Noora (Afghanistan), Uudam Tran Nguyen’s (Vietnam) Waltz of the Machine Equestrians (2012) and Amir Yatziv’s (Germany) DETROIT (2009). As part of the Berlin Art Week this year, Art-Claims-Impulse has curated a film program for Theater im Palais (Am Festungsgraben 1, 10117 Berlin). The program includes Tess by Per Teljer, Boogie with you by Jannicke Låker and Reconstruction by Mattias Härenstam, and will be shown on Sep 18 at 20.00 (Reconstruction at 22.15). Within the framework of the art project Gradient: From Gray to Color Scale Festival Miden presents a screening program titled "Can One Mistake Reality for Reality?" in Ioannina, Greece.
The project will take place at Ioannina urban spaces from 3 to 11 of July 2014. Festival Miden's screening is scheduled Sunday 6 of July, 21.30 at Papazoglou street. The program, which includes Closed Circuit (In the middle of Sweden), is curated by Gioula Papadopoulou and was initially presented in Now&After events last year at Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Mattias Härenstam will participate in a group show titled The Pleasure of Negative Emotions, curated by Maya Økland and Hilde Jørgensen at KNIPSU in Bergen. Mattias will show two wood sculptures; In spite of it all and My mistake. The other artists in the show are Jessie Kleemann, Iben Mondrup, Paula Muhr and Perttu Saksa.
The show opens on Wed May 21st at 20.00 and stays open until June 15th.

On Thursday May 22nd at 19.00 there will be a screening of three films by visual artsits at Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall, Fredrikstad. The films are CYRK (2014) by Jorunn Myklebust Syvertsen, BIG BANGS AND OTHER SMALLER REACTIONS (2013) by Trine Lise Nedreaas and RECONSTRUCTION (2013) by Mattias Härenstam. The artists will be present.
The screening is a collaboration between Hydrogenfabrikken Kunsthall and Viken Filmsenter.
On Saturday, May 10, VAEFF is having a short screening at Cutlog NY Art Fair, with a selection of works from past festivals. Closed Circuit (in the Middle of Sweden) is one of the included works. The screening is also part of the Frieze Art Week.
